Big Trouble, Little China

Thursday, October 13, 2011

The poor babies have been sick this week,  but are thankfully on the mend. Jackson has his first cold (not to shabby for almost 7 months old) and Emma seemed to catch the same thing within a day. I stayed home with the babies yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes. Not only did Squishy go from crawling to sitting for the first time, but he also learned that he can stand up (well, almost)! He was doing it all day on whatever he could get his chunky little hands on!

I had to catch him on video, but I'm thinking we are in big trouble with this little guy.

The Mama & The Fooshy

Monday, October 10, 2011

We had a great weekend which started off with a trip to the farm for some fall fun. I have a lot of pictures to share but I have to say that so far, this one is one of my favorites. Squishy spent his time at the farm dangling from our Baby Bjorn so the majority of the pictures I took were of Emma running wild. We were taking a quick break for a snack on a bench and I ended up snapping a quick picture of the Squishy and I with my phone.

There is something about this picture that I love. The quality is terrible, the sun is glaring behind us, our faces are dark, Squishy is half covered because he is chewing on his bib, but I think it's perfect.

I get so wrapped up sometimes being behind the camera, trying to get the settings just right, trying to capture the exact facial expression or that adorable look, that I forget to be in the moment, to actually live in the moment. Maybe that's why I love this picture so much. It was the perfect moment. The sun was shining on us on a perfect fall day. Squishy was loving life hanging off of Mama. Emma couldn't have been more excited about the farm and the special time with Mommy and Daddy. I was in heaven and I love how this picture captures that feeling, and you can even see Squishy is smiling under that giant green bib.

PS: Boy is that kid heavy. My back still hurts. Ouch. :)

Thank Goodness for Fall...

How else could you get little tiny babies, snuggled up with, jammies,
pink bears and sweatshirts to cuddle by the fire?

And how else could you get little manly men to possibly look any cuter
without long sleeves shirts under short sleeve shirts like the big boys wear?

Here's to a fun fall weekend full of beautiful chilly weather, trips to the pumpkin patch, apple cider, hay rides, long naps and jammies. It's been a long week.

Puffs

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Remember when Emma tried Puffs for the first time? Well, we didn't get quite as many pictures of Jackson but I made sure to snap some! This was a couple of weeks ago so he is a pro by this point but the faces that babies make when trying something new is priceless.

So sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy Squishy's Journey of The Puff...

"I don't know what you are doing Daddy but I already don't like it."

"Umm. Houston. We have a problem."

"Abort! Abort!"

"Whoa! What WAS that?"

"Shew! I could get used to that!"
