Fashion Week for The Babies

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Since the weather has been changing pretty quickly around here from summer to fall, and since Squishy is gaining a pound a day (or at least it seems), the kids have been in dire need of some new clothes. With Squishy, it's been a struggle because he is growing SO FAST and all the fall clothes that I bought for him in 9 month size, pretty much fit him perfectly now (some pants may be long, but they fit everywhere else). So I refuse to by anything else in the 9 month size because he will be out of that by Halloween.

Emma Kathryn on the other hand is on the other side of the scale, still at a whopping 23 lbs, which she has been at for months. But, she is getting taller so she has been pretty hard to find clothes for as well. All her jeans from last year look like Capri pants, but they fit in the waist. She is still wearing several of her 12 or 18  month clothes. So any new clothes at 24 month or 2T are way too big for her. So basically I have no idea what size to buy for her.

But, despite all that, this has been of Fashion Week for the babies. Emma and I took a quick trip to Gymboree this weekend and picked up Squishy a few things to hopefully get through the winter (or most likely, just the fall at this rate). Since their clothes run big, I am hoping we can stretch some of those things out. I physically can not walk into that store without coming out with something for my baby girl. Its like cuteness overload. I'm pretty sure she is a walking Gymboree model. Squishy came out with a couple of new long sleeve tee-shirts and some new pants.

So, you can imagine my excitement when I was talking to Wes this weekend and he mentioned that we should start picking up a few things here and there for Christmas presents for the babies.

Yup, I did it. I mentioned Christmas in September.

This is only so we (and by "we", I mean "me" because I have a lack of control when it comes to buying the babies Christmas presents) can keep ourselves in check with spending this year. Not minutes later, I got a coupon sent in an email for Gymboree, right after notice of a 60% clearance sale. Yes. Please.

Luckily, I have a very girly-girl who l.o.v.e.s clothes, so giving her clothes for Christmas is right up her alley. So, I decided to pick up a few things for next summer...including the following...

  1. These are such cute clothes. I am glad I am not the only one. How is that possible that I can restrain myself from buying anything for me yet I do not have any will power when it comes to buying clothes for my daughter. BabyGap is my enemy. I can spend so much there, good thing I always wait for sales and coupons.

P.S. not sure why but blogger is not allowing me to leave a comment under my account while signed in. Weird.

  2. Megan, I'm glad I'm not the only one either! :) I can't remember when the last time was that I bought myself new clothes. My closet is still full of stuff that doesn't fit, leftover maternity clothes that can pass as real clothes and sweaters that I had 10 years ago. But my kids closets are full to the brim! :)
